Storybook

Storybook

These are the drafts we drew. To be consistent throughout the book, we decided to come out with a stanza for all our characters.
We use solid colors throughout the book because children usually prefer solid colors to gradients because it is more eye-catching.

We decided to place the text on the other side of the book because it follows the reading pattern from left to right. Moreover, the storybook will look neater.

To create consistency, we have then, decided, a page with picture, and a page with words works better. To allow more interactivity to take place, we have stickers in there for them to stick on the different pages.

the story line is about this kid, Joe, who is often neglected by his parents and friends. And one day, some miracle happened and his drawing came alive. He went thought a few obstacles and that was when he realize that his parents and friends actually loved him.

Sixth Assignments

In-class assignment

Critic on advertisements

the good ad
The ad that we chose was the heinken ad, where the light bounce upon the tip of the bottle, creating a diamond ring ( the season of the ad was valentine's day). There was a balance in the design principles and the texture they created was smooth ( as they use the gradient to smooth out their corporate colour -green).

the bad ad
The ad that we chose was the Diesel ad. The picture is messy and there wasn't any form of central attraction. The ad is distracting, and too many colours were used in that ad. I undstand that the ad is trying to instill a form of emotions into the ad, but somehow, it fails to instill the 'emotions' in me, rather. it complicates the whole ads.
